The History Behind The Cookies For Santa Plate
I never grew up leaving cookies for Santa (at least that I can remember). It is a tradition I started in my home when my son was younger but I never thought much about where the tradition came from.
According to History.com it’s an American tradition started in the 1930’s. Originally a stocking full of goodies for Santa was left by the chimney but during the great depression in many American homes a plate of cookies and milk was left for Santa.
My son is now 27 and I have a slighty weird/unique view on what the cookies for Santa plate should say or look like.
